I created this page in memory of Velvet Donald. She was a sister, an aunt, a friend. She called me her "little sister" and she really was like a big sister to me. She was there for me for the last 10 years of her life, and I am saddened that she had to go so soon. She used to say that the City was talking about her, because of the "Dip" signs (in other words, she thought of herself as a dip). She loved animals, and she was always involved with them in some way. She loved children. I met her when she became my mentor while I was in foster care.
She was buried at Memory Gardens Memorial Park 1604 N. Pine Rd. Guthrie, OK on Friday, July 13, 2007. Immediately following was a Memorial Picnic at Hayford Park in Edmond, OK.
Siblings: Michelle and Chuck Schlough of Edmond, Oklahoma
Friends: Benjamin Foulks, Shirley Knight, Sabra Alyea, Victor de la Torre, Debbie Hanshoe, Jeffrey Vaughn, and Janettee McCrary of Oklahoma City, OK.
